What personality traits in The Sims 3 most closely matches your own personality, in your opinion?

If I recreated myself as a Sim I think I’d pick: Workaholic, Friendly, Neurotic, Excitable and Bookworm. I definitely work more than I should, I love to visit and chat with people, I worry about ridiculous things all the time (I’m pretty sure I left my garage door open today…), I get excited about the silliest stuff (googly eyes I can stick all over the place! YAY!) and I really love to spend hours absorbed in a good book.

Gold betekend dat een spel helemaal klaar is en naar de fabriek kan om geperst, verpakt en dan verstuurd te worden naar de retailers.

Ik hoop dat we op 15 Mei, tijdens de Sims 3 Sneak Preview, de Sims 3 kunnen spelen die helemaal af is en geen test versie.

Maxoid Drea heeft op de Amerikaanse Sims 2 BBS wat meer details gegeven over de 2e buurt in Sims 3: Riverview. Dit is een buurt die je gratis kunt downloaden zodra de Sims 3 Store online komt en vol met boerderijen in een rivier landschap uiteraard met allerlei met verhaallijnen en Sims.

Net als de buurt die al in Sims 3 zit: Sunset Valley zal, denk ik, ook Riverview voor de Nederlandse versie niet vertaald worden en voor ons dus ook Riverview heten. De buurt kun je alleen downloaden als je je spel online registreert: dan pas heb je toegang tot de Sims 3 Store.

To clarify, Riverview is a free downloadable town that will be offered through The Sims 3 Store. This town will let you add even more Lots, Stories, and Sims into your game. Riverview is a whole separate town from Sunset Valley, set on an idyllic country side. It’s dotted with farms and nestled by a winding river. This sleepy little town comes with an entirely new set of inhabitants with secrets for your Sims to uncover! Riverview is offered to game registered players on www.TheSims3.com. Players can play the game offline once they’ve downloaded the town.

Electronic Arts’ upcoming Sims 3 could sell over 4 million units in 2009, says Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey — although he expects that a demographic transition toward newer entertainment forms like Nintendo’s Wii and DS might weigh on the title.

Sims 2 sold an estimated 3.5 units in calendar 2004, so the analyst expects the anticipated sequel to outdo its predecessor. EA also detailed today the game’s digital distribution-heavy, points-based model for further monetization, although Hickey doesn’t project how much Sims 3 can expect to earn incrementally from DLC and expansions.

He also expects that piracy is a potential risk for Sims 3 sales — “Spore sales were likely dramatically impacted by piracy,” Hickey says.
